The precision metalworking process begins with placing orders for steel materials from suppliers based on production requirements. Once the order is confirmed, the steel blanks are cut to size. Following cutting, dimensional tolerances are checked on all four edges. After this inspection, minor components and small parts can be directly fed into punching presses for subsequent milling or CNC machining. Such detailed processes are commonly employed in the manufacturing of eyewear and automotive components. In contrast, container fabrication typically involves only cutting and punching before proceeding directly to welding; after sandblasting, the parts are then coated with paint, followed by assembly of various components, resulting in a finished product ready for shipment.
II. Hardware Accessories
Most small hardware products are not end-consumer goods; rather, they serve as supporting components, semi-finished products, and tools used in industrial manufacturing processes. Only a small fraction of everyday hardware items are essential consumer goods for daily life, such as screws, screwdrivers, wrenches, and fishing gear. Hardware accessories refer to machine parts or components made from metal, as well as various small metal articles. These can be used independently or as auxiliary tools.
III. Safety Operating Procedures for Hardware Processing
1. During product processing, operators must maintain proper posture and remain fully alert to perform their duties. If any physical discomfort is experienced, for personal safety, the operator must immediately leave the workstation and report the issue to the workshop supervisor or higher-level management. Throughout operation, concentration is essential; idle chatter is strictly prohibited, and teamwork is required. Operators must never work while agitated or fatigued. To ensure personal safety, prevent accidents, and maintain operational safety, all employees must verify that their attire complies with job requirements before commencing work. The wearing of slippers, high heels, or any clothing that may compromise safety is forbidden; employees with long hair must wear a safety helmet.
2. Before starting the machine, check that all moving parts are properly lubricated, then start the machine and verify that the clutch and brake are functioning correctly. Run the machine at no-load for 1–3 minutes. Operation is strictly prohibited if any mechanical faults are detected.
3. When replacing the die, first disconnect the power supply. Only after the press has come to a complete stop may die installation and adjustment commence. Once installation and adjustment are complete, manually rotate the flywheel to perform two trial punches. To prevent unnecessary collisions between the press and the workpiece, it is essential to verify that the upper and lower dies are properly aligned and symmetrically positioned, that all fasteners are securely tightened, and that the blankholder ring is correctly located.
4. The power supply may be switched on and the machinery started only after all other personnel have left the machine work area and removed any debris from the worktable.
5. During machine operation, it is strictly prohibited to reach into the slide’s working area with your hands, and it is absolutely forbidden to use your hands to load or unload workpieces. When loading or unloading workpieces inside the punch press, only standard-compliant tools must be used. If any abnormal noises are heard or the machine malfunctions, immediately switch off the power supply and perform a thorough inspection. Once the machine is running, only one person shall be responsible for material handling and machine operation; no other personnel shall operate the electric control panel or step on the foot pedal switch. For the safety of others, it is also strictly forbidden to place your hands in the machine’s working area or to touch any moving parts of the machine.
